The Ark of Truth

Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Cristopher Judge, and Michael Shanks star in a direct to dvd follow up to the cult hit TV show, Stargate SG-1.

Many people have not heard of this movie and would probably be lost if they were not a avid fan of the TV series. If you were a fan of the TV series then this is a must see. Even though the movie is a must see its not one I would recommend spending the money on to put in your personal collection.

Acting in this movie is on par with that of the TV series that proceeded it and probably better than that of most direct to dvd movies.

The Plot is not very thick but there is enough going on in the movie. The plot and storyline will be extremely hard to follow for those not familiar with the back story.

SPOILER WARNING

The solution found to convince the Ori followers that they are wrong is a piece of Alteran technology called the Ark of Truth. This trail of solutions to problems that are arcealogical finds ran out of creativity a long time ago and was in no way unexpected.

Dennis Quaid and Rob Brown star in a heartwarming but non-engaging sports movie.

I had expected good things from this movie and it delivered only half of what I expected. The acting was good. Dennis Quaid did especially well as the coach of the Syracuse Orangemen. Rob Brown's acting however was not to the same level. This movie was lacking in plot and storyline. The audience already knows the young Ernie Davis becomes a good football player, that he will face hardship, and that he will win the Heisman Trophy long before the end of the movie. The thin storyline in this movie does not get much thicker than that basic premise.

SPOILER WARNING

At the end of the story, doctors diagnose Ernie Davis with Leukemia. The thread leading to this fact is really the only interesting storyline. Ernie's grandfather also dies in the middle of the film but, although heartbreaking, his death was not unexpected.

Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea Star in a faith based film on marriage by Sherwood Films.

Kirk Cameron delivers a stellar performance in this film and deserves a "Was That Real?" rating. The rest of the cast did not deliver the same level of performance. Erin Bethea's perfomance was at times forced and the supporting cast needed major help. I will give this film credit for producing a film with only $500,000 and all volunteer actors.

The Plot in this film was very simple. There are couple twists in the storyline but nothing unexpected.

The emotional factor is what makes this film great. I almost cried in the theater and I really had to make an effort to hold it back.

This film places a large emphasis on Kirk Kameron's chracter needing God in his relationship to make it work. Many people may not like the blatant conversion attempts made in the movie.

Shia Labeouf and Michelle Monaghan star in a blockbuster sci-fi thriller executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

This movie fails my high expectations of a movie involving Steven Spielberg. Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan do a great job acting but the movie's script did not allow us to see how much the two could have done. The Movie also felt rushed because of to much content in to little time.

SPOILER WARNING

The computer for a villain is overdone, although in this case it was somewhat unexpected. In a movie with a plot like this one I would have preffered a better plot twist.
